In Israel, the first sheaf guaranteed the whole harvest. Christ risen is God's firstfruits — His resurrection guarantees ours.
What the name means
If the firstfruits is risen, the harvest is coming — His resurrection is not a one-off but a down payment.
The first sheaf was offered on the third day after the Sabbath of Passover — the very morning Jesus rose.
Death is not the end for those in Christ — the Firstfruits has gone before, and the harvest follows.
How to pray this name
- Pray over grief: 'Firstfruits, my loved ones in You will rise — the harvest is guaranteed.'
- Pray it over your own death — the Firstfruits has already walked through it.
Firstfruits of those who sleep, Your resurrection is my guarantee. Raise me and mine on the last day. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
