Hebrew · yeh-ho-VAH shah-LOME

Jehovah-Shalom

יְהוָה שָׁלוֹם

The LORD is peace — wholeness, nothing missing or broken

Symbol: The dove — peace settling where fear once nested

So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it Jehovah-Shalom.

Judges 6:24

Gideon named God 'Peace' while hiding in a winepress, before a single enemy had moved. Peace came as a Person before it came as a circumstance.

What the name means

Shalom is not the absence of trouble but the presence of wholeness — health, harmony, completeness, restored relationship.

God gives peace by giving Himself: 'He himself is our peace' (Ephesians 2:14).

This peace guards like a garrison; Philippians says it stands sentry over heart and mind.

How to pray this name

  • Pray it slowly over anxious thoughts, one breath per phrase.
  • Speak it over homes, conversations and sleep.

Jehovah-Shalom, be my peace before my circumstances change. Guard my heart and mind and make me whole. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.

Declaration

The Lord is my peace — nothing missing, nothing broken, no room for fear.
