Jehovah-Rapha

יְהוָה רֹפְאֶךָ

The LORD who heals you

Symbol: The healing branch cast into bitter waters at Marah

I am the LORD, who heals you — Jehovah-Rapha.

Exodus 15:26

God revealed this name beside bitter water He had just made sweet. Healing is not an occasional favour; it is part of who He is.

What the name means

Rapha means to mend, restore, cure — the word used for repairing a broken vessel and for healing a wounded soul.

The healing at Marah was environmental before it was personal: God heals the waters we drink from — homes, histories, bloodlines.

Isaiah 53 carries the same root into the cross: by His wounds we are healed.

How to pray this name

  • Lay your hand on the place of pain and name Him Rapha over it.
  • Pray it for bitter memories, not just bodies — He mends both.

Jehovah-Rapha, cast Your branch into my bitter waters and make them sweet. Heal my body, my mind and my memory. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.

Declaration

By His stripes I am healed — the Lord who heals is at work in me now.
