Christ calls Himself the Amen — not a word we say at the end of a prayer, but the Person who makes every promise certain.
What the name means
In Greek, Amen means 'truly' — it is the stamp of absolute reliability. Jesus is God's 'Yes' to every promise.
Paul wrote: 'No matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ. And so through him the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God.'
To pray to the Amen is to stop hedging your prayers with doubt — He is the guarantee that what the Father speaks, the Son secures.
How to pray this name
- End prayer with confidence: 'Amen — so be it, because You are the Amen.'
- When a promise feels uncertain, bring it to the One who is Himself the guarantee.
Lord Jesus, the Amen, You are the faithful and true Witness. Let every promise the Father has spoken to me find its Yes in You. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
