Greek · HO LO-gos
Logos
ὁ λόγος
The Word — God's self-expression made flesh
Symbol: The scroll open in the beginning — the Word by whom all was spoken
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1
Before He was a teacher, Jesus was the Word — the total expression of the invisible God, and He became flesh.
What the name means
Logos is reason, message and speech in one: God did not just speak words; He IS the Word.
All things were made through Him — creation is the Word's work, and redemption is the Word's mission.
To know God, you do not climb to heaven; you receive the Word who came down.
How to pray this name
- Read the Gospels as meeting a Person, not a paper: the Word speaks to you there.
- Pray: 'Living Word, shape my thoughts until they match Yours.'
Logos, Living Word, speak into my silence and shape my life by Your truth. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
Declaration
The Word became flesh and dwells with me — I live by every word from His mouth.
