What the name means
The Passover lamb spared one household; this Lamb takes away the sin of the world — one sacrifice for all.
He was silent before His shearers, as Isaiah 53 prophesied — the Lamb did not defend Himself because He was defending us.
Revelation shows the Lamb on the throne — the sacrificial Lamb is also the reigning King. Worthiness is His forever.
How to pray this name
- Pray: 'Lamb of God, take away my sin — I bring it all to You.'
- Pray it at communion — the table preaches the Lamb.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, take away mine. I bring it all to Your one sacrifice. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
