Jehovah-M'Kaddesh
יְהוָה מְקַדִּשְׁכֶם
The LORD who sanctifies you
Symbol: The set-apart lampstand — a vessel taken off the shelf for God alone
“Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.”
Leviticus 20:8
Holiness is not first something you achieve; it is something He does to you. He is the Sanctifier.
What the name means
Qadash means to set apart, consecrate, dedicate — to remove from common use for a sacred purpose.
God does not merely demand holiness; He supplies it, working in us to will and to act according to His good purpose.
Sanctification is ongoing: the same fire that lights the altar keeps it burning.
How to pray this name
- Consecrate specific areas: time, money, phone, relationships.
- Pray it in seasons of fasting and repentance.
Jehovah-M'Kaddesh, set me apart. Burn away what is common in me until only what belongs to You remains. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
Declaration
The Lord Himself sanctifies me — I am set apart, holy ground, a burning altar.
