What the name means
A shepherd in the ancient world would lie across the sheepfold opening at night — He was the door. Jesus is that for His flock.
Through Him, sheep go in (rest, safety) and go out (pasture, freedom) — the Door is for both shelter and abundance.
Thieves climb over; the sheep use the Door. To enter any other way is to be a stranger to the flock.
