What the name means
He knows grief not by observation but by acquaintance — He has lived it.
He was despised and rejected — the Man of Sorrows is the God of the rejected, the despised and the broken.
By His wounds we are healed — His sorrow is the surgery that heals ours.
How to pray this name
- Pray in sorrow: 'Man of Sorrows, You are acquainted with my grief — I am not alone.'
- Pray it for the brokenhearted — He has been where they are.
Man of Sorrows, acquainted with my grief, I bring my pain to the One who has felt it. Heal me by Your wounds. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
