Like an Eagle
כְּנֶשֶׁר
Like an Eagle — God bearing His people on wings above the wilderness
Symbol: The eagle stirring its nest — carrying the young on its pinions
“like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.”
Deuteronomy 32:11
Moses' final song pictures God as an eagle — He unsettts the nest to teach His young to fly, then catches them on His own wings.
What the name means
The eagle stirs the nest — God's discomfort is always training, not abandonment.
He spreads His wings to catch them when they fall — the same wings that pushed them out gather them up.
He carries them on His pinions — you are borne by strength not your own, even when it feels like free fall.
How to pray this name
- Pray: 'Like an eagle, You stirred my nest — but You catch me when I fall.'
- Pray it when God's leading feels unsettling — the push is the start of flight.
Like an eagle, You stir my nest to make me fly. Carry me on Your pinions when I cannot. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
Declaration
God bears me on eagle's wings — His discomfort is my training and His pinions are my safety.
