Elohei Tikvah

אֱלֹהֵי תִּקְוָה

The God of Hope

Symbol: The rainbow after the flood — hope anchored in a promise

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

Hope is not a mood God dispenses — He is the God OF hope; hope flows from who He is.

What the name means

Tikvah originally meant a cord or expectation — like the scarlet cord of Rahab: hope as a rope held onto in the storm.

The God of hope fills, not sprinkles — joy and peace are His gifts to the trusting.

Overflow is the goal: hope received from God is meant to spill onto everyone near you.

How to pray this name

  • Pray the verse back: 'God of hope, fill me with joy and peace as I trust You.'
  • Pray it over the hopeless — despair has never beaten the God of Hope.

Elohei Tikvah, God of Hope, fill me until I overflow with hope for everyone around me. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.

Declaration

My God is the God of Hope — I have a future and my hope will not be cut off.
