Hope is not a mood God dispenses — He is the God OF hope; hope flows from who He is.
What the name means
Tikvah originally meant a cord or expectation — like the scarlet cord of Rahab: hope as a rope held onto in the storm.
The God of hope fills, not sprinkles — joy and peace are His gifts to the trusting.
Overflow is the goal: hope received from God is meant to spill onto everyone near you.
How to pray this name
- Pray the verse back: 'God of hope, fill me with joy and peace as I trust You.'
- Pray it over the hopeless — despair has never beaten the God of Hope.
Elohei Tikvah, God of Hope, fill me until I overflow with hope for everyone around me. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
