“Thanksgiving; the praise of the thank-offering”

“Those who sacrifice todah — thank offerings — honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”
Psalm 50:23

Todah is thanksgiving with hands — the thank offering Israel brought to the altar before the answer even arrived. It is praise offered in advance.

What it means

Todah is the sacrifice of thanksgiving: not a feeling that rises, but an offering that is laid down.

The Psalms tie todah to testimony: 'Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story' — thanksgiving is gratitude made public.

Psalm 50 calls it the pathway of God's showing: whoever sacrifices thanksgiving honors God and sees His salvation.

Father, I bring my todah today — thanksgiving offered before the breakthrough, on the strength of who You are.

I thank You for the prayers already answered and for the ones still rising like smoke from the altar.

Let gratitude be the incense of my house, not the afterthought of it.

I enter His gates with thanksgiving — my praise goes up before the answer comes.
