Shalom
“Wholeness, completeness, peace”
“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you shalom.”
Numbers 6:26
Shalom is not the absence of trouble — it is the presence of wholeness. It is what happens when every broken piece of a life is gathered back into place under the hand of God.
What it means
Shalom does not merely mean calm; it means complete. A person at shalom is a person with nothing missing and nothing broken.
It is used for peace between nations, for health in the body, for friendship, for prosperity, and for the well-being of a whole city — one word carrying them all.
When Jesus says 'Peace I leave with you,' the Greek carries this Hebrew weight: He bequeathed His own wholeness to you.
Pray the word
Lord of shalom, I ask not only for quiet but for wholeness — in my body, my mind, my home, my tomorrow.
Gather every scattered piece of me and set it back in place under Your hand.
Let Your shalom stand guard over my heart like a garrison today.
The peace of God guards my heart and mind — I walk in wholeness, nothing missing, nothing broken.
