Charis
“Grace; unmerited favor”
“By charis — grace — you have been saved, through faith; this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8
Charis is heaven's economy turned upside down: favor given before performance, blessing signed before you could sign anything yourself.
What it means
Charis is gift-love — favor that flows from the giver's heart, not the receiver's record.
It is enough (charis) made sufficient in weakness: 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.'
Grace does not lower the standard; it lifts the person. That is why the altar calls for surrender, not payment.
Pray the word
Father, I stand in Your charis today — not my record, but Your gift.
Let grace be sufficient in my weakest place today, and let Your power rest on me there.
I refuse to earn what You have freely given; I receive it with open hands.
I am who I am by the grace of God — His favor precedes me, His gift outruns my effort.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
