Doxa
“Glory; radiant weight of God's presence”
“We all, with unveiled faces beholding the doxa of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image, from glory to glory.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
When Scripture says the glory filled the temple, the Hebrew word meant weight — a presence so real the priests could not stand. Doxa is that glory revealed in the face of Christ.
What it means
Doxa is the visible splendor of the invisible God — the shining that Israel saw, the fullness we behold in Christ.
It is also our destiny: 'we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's doxa, are being transformed into the same image.'
Glory is not only where God is; it is what God shares — the altar is the doorway to it.
Pray the word
Father, show me Your glory — lift the veil from my eyes until I see Jesus.
Let the weight of Your presence settle on my home, my church, my city.
Change me from glory to glory, until my life reflects what I behold.
I behold the glory of the Lord with an unveiled face — I am being changed from glory to glory.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
