October 9th
More Than Conquerors
Listen to this devotional
Opening · Section 1 of 11
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses.”
Acts 1:8Read full chapter →
The presence of God is not a feeling to chase but a Person to dwell with. He has chosen to make His home in you. The work of October is to become aware of what is already true.
Practice the presence. Talk to Him in the kitchen. Listen for Him in the commute. Thank Him in the ordinary. The sacred is not confined to the sanctuary; it fills every room you invite Him into.
God's word does not merely describe reality; it creates it. He spoke and there was light. He speaks and there is life. When you take His word into your mouth in prayer, you are not making noise into a void — you are agreeing with the most creative force in the universe and inviting it into your circumstance.
Before you close this page, do one honest thing with God. Name the fear out loud. Confess the compromise. Ask for what you have been too polite to ask for. He is not intimidated by your honesty; He is invited by it. The prayers that move heaven are rarely the eloquent ones — they are the true ones.
The Prayer
Pray it slowly, out loud, movement by movement
1. Adoration
Father, You are the God of the long view. You are never late, never rushed, and never careless with a life You died to redeem. Your timing has never once failed a person who trusted it.
2. Confession
Forgive me for trying to force doors, for grasping at what You had not yet given, and for reading Your silence as absence. I have mistaken delay for denial and hurry for faith.
3. Petition
Teach me to wait without wasting the wait. In the silence, grow my roots. In the delay, deepen my trust. Do the hidden work in me now so that I can carry what You have prepared for me later.
4. Consecration
I surrender my timeline to Your wisdom. You are working, even when I cannot see it, and I will not quit before the appointed time. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
