The Wells You Must Redig
Listen to this devotional
Opening · Section 1 of 11
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7Read full chapter →
The Rock does not shift with the decades. Cultures change, callings take new shape, but Christ the foundation remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are not building on a memory; you are building on a Person who is alive.
Anchor your first day in this: you are held. Whatever else this year brings, the ground beneath you is sure. Build boldly, because you are already standing on the only foundation that cannot be moved.
Notice the order in which God works. He speaks before He shows. He promises before He performs. He names you before you behave like the name. If you insist on seeing the evidence before you trust the voice, you will spend your life waiting at the wrong door. Faith is the decision to organise your life around what God has said while the visible world is still catching up.
Let today's word travel further than your own life. Send it to one person who needs it. Fire spreads; a devotion kept private has only done half its work. What God pours into you is always partly meant for someone else's drought.
The Prayer
Pray it slowly, out loud, movement by movement
1. Adoration
Holy Spirit, You are not a force or a feeling but a Person — the very presence of God given to me. You convict without condemning, comfort without indulging, and lead without ever losing the way. I honour You, and I make room for You this morning.
2. Confession
I confess how often I have quenched You. I have chosen noise over Your whisper, opinion over Your counsel, and hurry over Your leading. Where I have grieved You by my speech, my appetite or my unforgiveness, I repent and turn.
3. Petition
Fall fresh on me. Order my steps, sanctify my speech, sharpen my discernment and make my life a dwelling place for Your glory. Teach me to recognise Your voice above every other voice competing for my obedience today.
4. Consecration
I welcome You to lead, correct, interrupt and redirect me. I will obey quickly and without negotiation. Come and take Your rightful place at the centre of my life. In the Mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.
