Mercy New Every Morning

Harvest is the visible faithfulness of God. What you sowed in tears, you will reap with joy. August is the month to gather — to look back at the year and see that not one seed was wasted.

The harvest is plentiful, but it requires labourers who will step into the field. Do not stand at the edge admiring the wheat; go and gather. The fruit is already ripe; it is waiting for willing hands.

Scripture was never written in a vacuum. Every promise you read today was first given to somebody with dust on their feet, bills to pay, enemies at the gate and questions they could not answer. That is why the word still lands: it was forged in real weather. When you read it, you are not being handed a slogan — you are being handed the testimony of a God who has already proved Himself in circumstances harder than yours.

So take this into the ordinary hours. Let it change how you answer the message you have been avoiding, how you speak to the person who irritates you, how you handle the hour when nobody is watching. Devotion that never reaches the kitchen, the commute and the workplace is not devotion — it is decoration.
